Graduating with honours from the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Sahlan has focused his work in the Australasia region. Having been raised in Tokyo, Jakarta and Sydney, Sahlan brings contemporary western architectural concepts and technologies whilst maintaining cultural awareness and sensitivities for what can and cannot work in South East Asia. Sahlan is focused on Environmentally Sustainable Design principles and technologies. In 2018 he successfully completed 'The Architectural Imagination' course from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Having come from a family of architects Sahlan has been working in various architectural offices since he was a teenager in Sydney and Jakarta, such as Connybeare Morrison and McKingley & Associates (director). He has worked on a range of projects; from master planning the Sydney Olympics, and Darling Harbour waterfront, to smaller commercial developments like Adi Puri (www.adipuri.com) and residential projects in Central Kalimantan. In recent years he has focused on mixed development and commercial projects, bringing an understanding of the practical business requirements of a project and combining it with an astute design awareness to create designs which satisfy both the financial needs and the social needs of a project to create a truly sustainable development.
In 2008 Azhari Rasuman Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture at Iowa State University, (ISU). In 2009 he joined an internship with Konyk Architecture in New York, as part of a design team that conceptualized URBAN AERATION, for RE:Vision Dallas Design Study which won several awards including, AIA New York Chapter Design Award in 2010 for un-built work and placing first-runner up for the d3 Natural system Competition in 2009.
Moving to Indonesia in July 2009, Azhari worked in Jakarta and completed the following projects: The interior design of a satellite office for AURECON, an international engineering consulting firm based in Australia; The design of the new Philippine Embassy in Menteng; and design and construction supervision of two "single residence houses" in Bogor, Indonesia, which since completion in 2010, the house has been used as a setting and backdrop in a myriad of local commercial product advertising as well as two movie films.
In 2011 Azhari formed WAR with fellow ISU graduate. WAR brought young designers together in the pursuit of conceptualizing and executing experiments of Architectural spaces. Projects Include; an experimental penthouse interior in Palladian apartments; ZIRUP (Zigzag Ruko Project); IVY Bistro in Darmawangsa, which was hifeatured in the 2013 Nov-Dec issue of Indonesian Design Magazine.
Azhari continues to strive for interesting and exciting experiences in design within the realms of Architecture and all of its social, ecological, and environmental responsibilities.
KANIA KUSUMA DEWI
Kania Kusuma Dewi graduated in 2012 from Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture. Prior to graduating from university, she has worked as an intern at Summarecon, and at Arkade Adhi Kreasi in 2012. Both internships were focused on Housing projects. After graduating from university, Kania began working at Agung Podomoro Land, one of Indonesia's largest developers for almost 2 years. At Agung Podomoro Land she handled several projects including housing, shop houses, marketing offices, apartments. She also was involved in interior design and master planning teams. Following her passion of design, she is now working at McKingley + Team Architects, where she has takes on a greater responsibility for projects.
Afifah graduated in 2016 and received her bachelor degree in Architecture from the Institute of Technology, Bandung (ITB). During her studies, she participated in International Joint Studio organized by ITB, UGM, and FH Erfurt focusing on the revitalization of Lempuyangan Station. She did an internship at Sheils Flynn Asia and helped with several Landscape projects in Indonesia and the UK, including the Unilever Headquarter, Grand Sungkono Lagoon, and Fosse Park. After graduation, she joined MTA team in 2016.
Project Interior Architect
Rifa gradudated in 2016 from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia with Bachelor Degree in Architecture, majoring Interior Architecture. During her studies she took an internship at Waskita Karya Reality as interior architect intern, where she worked on the Dafam Teraskita Hotel in Jakarta.
After graduating from university, she joined Sesby Design and Build as a junior interior architect and worked on several residential projects. She worked closely with the interior design, architecture, landscape, and branding teams.
Rendy finished his undergraduate degree majoring architecture at Universitas Indonesia in 2019. During his college years, he joined several students organizations and numerous events since his first year, including the advance team for expedition crew of Ekskursi Seram Arsitektur UI. He also was awarded achievements during his last term of study for a student design competition.
After graduation, he continues to sharpen his professional and creative skills in McKingley + Team Architects.
MUHAMAD RENDY ABDILLAH
Ovi received her bachelor degree in Architecture from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, in 2014. During her study, she participated in the community-based master planning workshop for Winongo riverbank housing Jogjakarta, Pepe riverbank Solo and Peneleh Surabaya. After receiving her Master of Architecture degree at University of Nottingham, UK in 2016, she remained involved with ITS as a Research Assistant and Community Architect team before she joined Tsang Pratama Indonesia as a Junior Architect where she worked closely with residential, commercial and landscape project. She joined MTA team in 2019.
OVINDRA EL RACHMALISA
Anggakara Dhira graduated in 2011 and received his bachelor degree in Architecture from Universitas Pelita Harapan , Karawaci.
Prior to working at MTA architects, he has been working at various architectural firm in Jakarta, such as US&P Architects an architecture firm focusing mainly on Residential Project, WOW design studio a singapore based architect firm who is been opening their representatives office in Jakarta and involved in numerous project ranging from Hospitality to Mixed use development and also act as an direct assistant architect to Peter Tow from Tow Studios a Boutique Interior + Architecture firm from New York handling Luxurious Residential in Jakarta.
He Joined MTA architects in 2018
Joshua graduated from Universitas Pelita Harapan with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2019. During his studies, he was the head of the photography division in the faculty's organization.
Working alongside an architectural and design consultancy firm for a couple months, Joshua was directly involved in designing of one of the Indonesia's most famous pedestrian crossings - JPO. located in Sudirman. Continuing to hone his skills in architecture and design, Joshua is now a part of the design team in McKingley + Team Architect
JOSHUA LUVIN SUWANDI
Junior Interior Architect
Levin graduated in 2019 from Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (UI) with Bachelor Degree in Architecture, majoring in Interior Architecture. During his studies, he participated in a Joint Studio program with Queensland University of Technology (QUT) researching heritage buildings in Kota Tua, Jakarta. Prior to graduation he worked as an Interior Architect Intern at PavilionSembilanLima, where he worked on residential and offices projects. He is also involved in several community engagement projects aiding his lecturer in UI publishing international journals on Design Sustainability. After graduation, he joined Mckingley + Team Architects in 2019.
